The Lubbock Association of REALTORS® is a non-profit trade association serving more than 1,800 REALTOR® members and Affiliated businesses. LAR is affiliated with the Texas Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. We work to provide our members with the tools they need to remain successful such as the Multiple Listing Service, education programs and an extensive political action program. Only members of the Lubbock Association of REALTORS® can use the trademark REALTOR®.
As a member of the Lubbock Association of REALTORS®, our members have access to legislative advocacy through the Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee (TREPAC), networking opportunities, community involvement, education classes, and additional services such as the MLS, ShowingTime, Supra eKEY, and FOREWARN.
The Lubbock Association of REALTORS® has a detailed history that dates back to 1926, when the association made an application to be a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, then called the National Association of Real Estate Boards, as the Lubbock Real Estate Board. The association’s name was changed to the Lubbock Board of REALTORS®, Inc. in 1957, and changed to the Lubbock Association of REALTORS®, Inc. in 1992.
The LAR has the distinction of creating the first Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the state of Texas, a model that is now used across the state. Over the years, the name of the Association has changed, as well as its location office. What hasn’t changed is that the LAR continues to offer stellar customer service to its ever-growing membership base.
