The purpose of this course is to familiarize the real estate professional with the most commonly used sales contract in a residential real estate transaction. This class provides an in-depth analysis of various aspects of the TREC1-4 contract. It discusses the structure and nature of a residential contract along with agent responsibilities. The class teaches on basic liability theories arising from the TREC one to four contract. The class also teaches the real estate agent best practices when using the 1-4 contract as well as contract do’s and don’ts.This course will provide the license holder insight regarding the impact of contract mistakes on the transaction and the ability to effectively negotiate the deal; if the transaction needs to be restructured or voided and any possible legal ramifications impacting the parties to the transaction.

This course will provide instruction on using Facebook as a networking tool and the creation of real estate related business opportunities. Agents will learn to implement strategies on Facebook to present their services to a wider audience at minimal cost. How to integrate blog and RSS feeds into their Facebook page and become more efficient in managing leads with Facebook. It will allow agents to build their business/client network by having the ability to provide real-time status updates, photos/video of property listings.

This course is designed to introduce the real estate license holder to the business development and client-base building opportunities available via social networking sites with a focus one of the most popular site used by the real estate industry. By developing this skill agents will be able to market more effectively on a larger scale, find new clients and expand their current portfolio of contacts using this social media platform.

Focusing on LinkedIn, the largest professional network, agent will learn what LinkedIn is and how to deploy it. The course will discuss the networks application to the real estate industry, what makes this site so popular and how effectively using LinkedIn can grow a business and expand a client base. Agents will be able to use this tool to prospect for new clients and as a contact management system for current/past clients and business partners.

This course was developed specifically for real estate license holders who are using social media to market their products and services or have already embraced social media at an introductory level. The course will build upon their existing knowledge of using LinkedIn and the guidelines for appropriate use related to real estate transactions, marketing and listing of properties.

The course offers a broad overview of the basics of commercial real estate and how it differs from residential real estate. Students will be able to distinguish and understand the broker's role and discover the different types of commercial properties, terms, valuation methods, marketing and resources for further education. Students will learn about Commercial contracts; the duties of those professionals who assist in commercial transactions; key differences between commercial and residential real estate; the types of commercial real estate and commercial transactions along with resources provided by NAR's Commercial Department and its affiliates.


This is an ideal introductory course for those who are newly licensed and/or residential agents who want to learn more about commercial real estate. It will explain the business and introduce many of the resources needed to conduct a commercial transaction or pursue a career in commercial real estate.

This course is for the residential real estate professional interested in commercial real estate. Learn the basics and beyond. From working with landlords and property managers to leasing office and retail space. The course covers basic vocabulary and basic mathematics. It also discusses some basic principles of how to communicate most effectively with landlords and property managers, the build-out process and what truly are the real estate professionals’ responsibilities in the commercial leasing process. The course is designed to remove the mystery of the build-out process and to illustrate why staying out of this part of the move-in process is crucial. By completing this course students can gain a tactical advantage in negotiations by illustrating how to best utilize certain clauses of the lease. This course is designed to walk real estate professionals through a variety of commercial leasing contracts. Using the TAR commercial lease contract as a guide, the course will focus on discussing how each clause in the contract is used. A variety of TAR commercial lease-related clauses will be covered, how they fit in with the lease contract and when exact language of a clause, such as the subrogation clause, requires consultation of a real estate attorney. Other topics include additional rent, letters of intent, construction riders, commission agreements and more. 

The objective of this course is to inform real estate license holder about the sales contract forms available for use in commercial transactions, the proper way to complete the forms without engaging in the unauthorized practice of law, the purpose of specific contract clauses, and negotiation strategies to use to their best advantage in completing the sales contract.

Advertising can attract attention and clients, but if you’re not careful, it can also bring you something you don’t desire. Real estate advertising rules seem to be violated more than any other and are the source of many complaints to TREC. This course provides an overview of advertising do’s and don’ts to keep real estate agents compliant with advertising standards of the Real Estate License Act (RELA), TREC and the NAR Code of Ethics. Course also covers applicable federal laws and regulations to help agents stay out of trouble. 

Sales agents will learn what is considered an advertisement and what is considered deceptive and misleading. This course will review the guidelines for complying with the advertising rules set forth in the Real Estate License Act, the TREC advertising rules, and Article 12 of the Code of Ethics. Will also learn the proper way to advertise using team names and assumed names.
